We invite you to join us!
On the first Saturday in the month of Ramadan, Barrah Sisters organizes an overnight event at the masjid for women only. We read Quran, learn duas, pray, reflect on Allah’s mercy, and share suhoor (meal before the fast) together.
This gathering (that starts after Taraweeh & ends at Fajr) is a beautiful way to deepen our connection with Allah, embrace the tranquility of a night spent in worship and strengthen our sisterhood.
Our retreat is a dedicated time set aside for renewal, Over the course of a few days, we invite deeper reflections on Allah, Islam, and our purpose. We celebrate what we have achieved as a group.
The retreat offers space for us to connect with one another through acts of worship, reflection, and meaningful conversation. We acknowledge what has been nurtured, express gratitude, and make plans for the future.
Barrah Sisters established the Imam Qasim Ahmed Quran Tree. This tree honors the legacy of Imam Qasim's lifetime work of encouraging & teaching Muslims to read the Qur'an in its original language.
The purpose of this tree is to document & celebrate those Muslims in the Imam WD Mohammed community who have completed the reading of the entire Qur'an in Arabic (at least once however long it took).
Have you read the entire Quran in Arabic from beginning to end?
Congratulations! Let us know so we can add your leaf to our Quran tree.
We host occasional sisters only social gatherings in Houston, Texas to create space for connection and community outside of our regular halaqa settings.
These gatherings are are meant to be warm, fun, & welcoming. They offer us the opportunity to spend time together, strengthen relationships, and enjoy shared moments in a safe, relaxed environment.
Details for upcoming socials are shared as they become available.
O Allah, increase us in beneficial knowledge, soften our hearts,
and make us among those who embody sisterhood.
